Personal Meanings of the Name Tricia

  • I kind of like it, it sounds very nice and it's way better than Trisha and Patricia.

  • I like Tricia, it seems like a more unique and beautiful form of Trisha. Trisha sounds like a petulant teenager to me, sorry! (Maybe because of Trisha Paytas...?) Tricia has a more mature sound and... and, yes, maybe a little more sophisticated than Trisha. But I am sorry that people confuse it so much with Trisha or that they take for granted that it is Patricia's nickname. Honestly, if I were to call my daughter Tricia, I wouldn't want her to be called something else, no matter if it's by mistake or not.

  • I was born in 1969 when Nixon was president and one of his daughter's was referred to as Tricia, which is why my full name is Tricia (not Patricia) because my parents liked the sound of her name. I have always liked my name, but have alternated using Trish or Tricia through the years. Family call me Trish, and when others call me Trish, I find it endearing because it's like they feel close to me. Yes, I have a lot of people spell it Trisha incorrectly, but as I get older, I really don't care to correct them.
The most common question I get is, "Is your real name Patricia?" And I can't stand it if someone makes an assumption that they can call me Pat or Patricia... you might as well call me Michelle. I only tell people about the Nixon connection with my name as a fun fact considering Nixon's infamy.
Overall, I really like my name and love it when I see other Tricias in the world. :)
